Hi there my name is Marco, I’m the owner of Blue World Agency, and I am here to explain local SEO to you in a simple, yet effective manner.

First off let’s start with the concept of SEO… SEO is “search engine optimization”. This is how people are ranking on Google, Yahoo, and Bing. The process involves various factors which give trust and authority to the website. The better the on-page factors of the website and the off-page factors such as backlinks add up the higher the rank. The best websites have both great content and design, to match with strong back-links from powerful websites. This gives them authority over those other thousands of websites that pop up every day. This is how websites like Wikipedia, and Yelp always rank high on google, they have authority.

Local SEO is search engine optimization focused on a LOCAL market so if you were a hair salon in LA we would want to rank for the search term “Hair Salon in Los Angeles”.  This way you get targeted leads. Local SEO is positively affected by “NAP” directories (Name, Address, Phone Number) because of this , it is a good idea to verify your location with Google Business. It’s also important to have accurate information throughout your backlinks for the best results.

Overall local SEO can be tough, you want to do as much as possible naturally. Don’t fall for fake SEO gurus who will try to rank your site with mass spam linking. You want LONG term results for your business, you don’t want to wake up one day de-indexed on google this has happened to people! The reason is because typically these SEO “professionals” don’t know what they’re doing. They over saturate keyword ratios, they build spammy links, they provide low quality articles, and they don’t look for the most obvious types of links, links from local sites.

Funny how simple local SEO can be when you have knowledge and common sense.

If you want a professional to help you improve your business rank contact me, I have years doing this with all websites I’ve worked on still going strong today.
